Ap\u00f3s escoar no Lago Lauricocha, toma a denomina\u00e7\u00e3o de Mara\u00f1on, ainda no Andes, onde recebe pequenas contribui\u00e7\u00f5es, e ap\u00f3s atravessar o Pongo de Manserich\u00e9, segue aproximadamente a dire\u00e7\u00e3o leste at\u00e9 a foz, no Atl\u00e2ntico.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Ele entra no Brasil na conflu\u00eancia com o rio Javari, pr\u00f3ximo a Tabatinga, onde passa a se chamar Solim\u00f5es. Somente a partir da conflu\u00eancia com o rio Negro, seu nome se torna Amazonas. Pr\u00f3ximo a Manaus, bifurca-se com o Paran\u00e1 do Careiro, estimando-se a\u00ed uma largura da ordem de 1 500m e profundidade em torno de 35 m. A regi\u00e3o entre o rio Negro e a foz recebe a denomina\u00e7\u00e3o de Baixo Amazonas. <\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Merece destaque a cota de Manaus de apenas 60 m em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao oceano Atl\u00e2ntico.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Em virtude de sua posi\u00e7\u00e3o geogr\u00e1fica, praticamente paralela ao Equador, <strong>o per\u00edodo de chuvas bianual caracteriza o regime fluvial da Bacia Amaz\u00f4nica.<\/strong> Esta caracter\u00edstica se torna extremamente importante porque pelo menos um dos per\u00edodos \u00famidos anuais ocorre durante o per\u00edodo seco das Bacias do Sudeste e Nordeste.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">A Figura 2 revela que a Bacia Amaz\u00f4nica em territ\u00f3rio brasileiro possui eleva\u00e7\u00f5es inferiores a 100m, o que, apesar do imenso volume d&#8217;\u00e1gua, reduz a pot\u00eancia gerada dificultando o projeto de hidrel\u00e9tricas.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10497\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10497\" style=\"width: 711px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.antonioguilherme.web.br.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/usinas_amazonia.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10497 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.antonioguilherme.web.br.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/usinas_amazonia.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"711\" height=\"1135\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.antonioguilherme.web.br.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/usinas_amazonia.png 711w, https:\/\/www.antonioguilherme.web.br.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/usinas_amazonia-188x300.png 188w, https:\/\/www.antonioguilherme.web.br.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/usinas_amazonia-641x1024.png 641w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 711px) 100vw, 711px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10497\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Figura 4. Fonte: ONS<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">De acordo com a Figura 4, a regi\u00e3o possui <strong>18 usinas<\/strong>, <strong>totalizando 23 000 MW.<\/strong> Observa-se que a maioria opera a fio d&#8217;\u00e1gua<span id='easy-footnote-1-1781' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote'><a href=\"https:\/\/www.antonioguilherme.web.br.com\/blog\/geracao-de-energia-eletrica\/hidreletricas\/hidrologia\/bacias-brasileiras\/#easy-footnote-bottom-1-1781\" title=\", apenas 973 MW operam com armazenamento de energia\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span> e se encontram localizadas nos afluentes da margem direita em decorr\u00eancia da dificuldade de fazer o cruzamento das linhas de transmiss\u00e3o sobre o rio Amazonas. Fonte: ANA<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 id='bacias-tocantins-e-araguaia'  id=\"boomdevs_3\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Bacias Tocantins e Araguaia<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">A bacia hidrogr\u00e1fica Tocantins-Araguaia se localiza quase que integralmente entre os paralelos 2\u00ba e 18\u00ba e os meridianos de longitude oeste 46\u00ba e 56\u00ba. Sua configura\u00e7\u00e3o alongada no sentido longitudinal, seguindo as diretrizes dos dois importantes eixos fluviais \u2013 o Tocantins e o Araguaia \u2013 que se unem no extremo setentrional da Bacia, formando o baixo Tocantins, que desemboca no Rio Par\u00e1, pertencente ao estu\u00e1rio do rio Amazonas.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10531\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10531\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.antonioguilherme.web.br.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Bacia_tocantis_araguaia.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10531\" src=\"https:\/\/www.antonioguilherme.web.br.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Bacia_tocantis_araguaia.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"829\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.antonioguilherme.web.br.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Bacia_tocantis_araguaia.png 589w, https:\/\/www.antonioguilherme.web.br.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Bacia_tocantis_araguaia-217x300.png 217w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10531\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Figura 6. Fonte:ANA<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">A bacia do rio Tocantins possui uma <strong>vaz\u00e3o m\u00e9dia anual de 10 900m<sup>3<\/sup>\/s<\/strong>, <strong>volume m\u00e9dio anual de 344 Km<sup>3<\/sup><\/strong> e uma <strong>\u00e1rea de drenagem de 767 000 Km<sup>2<\/sup><\/strong>, que representa 7,5% do territ\u00f3rio nacional. Usinas na Bacia Tocantins Araguaia Fonte:ONS<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">A bacia do Tocantins faz fronteira com bacias de grandes rios brasileiros, ou seja, ao Sul com a do Paran\u00e1, a Oeste com a do Xingu, e a Leste com a do S\u00e3o Francisco. Grande parte de sua \u00e1rea est\u00e1 na regi\u00e3o Centro Oeste, desde as nascentes dos rios Araguaia e Tocantins at\u00e9 sua conflu\u00eancia, na divisa dos estados de Goi\u00e1s, Maranh\u00e3o e Par\u00e1. Desse ponto para jusante a bacia hidrogr\u00e1fica entra na regi\u00e3o Norte e se restringe a apenas um corredor formado pelas \u00e1reas marginais do rio Tocantins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">O Rio Araguaia n\u00e3o possui usinas no momento, que em decorr\u00eancia das quest\u00f5es ambientais da ilha do Bananal, grande reserva ind\u00edgena. Por\u00e9m, o Tocantins se encontra explorado em toda sua extens\u00e3o e foi a fronteira da gera\u00e7\u00e3o hidrel\u00e9trica no Brasil at\u00e9 as usinas do Rio Madeira e do Xingu.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">De acordo com a Figura 6<strong>, as 7 usinas<\/strong> instaladas no Tocantins somam atualmente <strong>12 780 MW e Serra da Mesa <\/strong>ocupa a posi\u00e7\u00e3o de<strong> usina com maior reservat\u00f3rio de acumula\u00e7\u00e3o no Brasil<\/strong>. Usinas da Bacia do Parnaiba<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 id='bacia-do-s\u00e3o-francisco'  id=\"boomdevs_5\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Bacia do S\u00e3o Francisco<\/span><\/h2>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">A bacia do S\u00e3o Francisco, a mais importante da regi\u00e3o Nordeste, abrange parte do territ\u00f3rio dos Estados de Minas Gerais, Bahia, Pernambuco e Alagoas, e se encontra entre as latitudes 7\u00ba 00\u00b4 e 21\u00ba 00\u00b4 S e as longitudes 35\u00ba 00\u00b4 e 47\u00ba 40\u2019 W.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Ela possui uma <strong>vaz\u00e3o m\u00e9dia anual de 3 360m<sup>3<\/sup>\/s,<\/strong> <strong>volume m\u00e9dio anual de 106Km<sup>3<\/sup><\/strong> e uma <strong>\u00e1rea de drenagem de 631 000 Km<sup>2<\/sup><\/strong>, representando 7,5% do territ\u00f3rio nacional. A maior parte, 83% da \u00e1rea da bacia, se encontra nos Estados de Minas Gerais e Bahia, 16% nos Estados de Pernambuco, Alagoas e Sergipe, e o restante 1% no Estado de Goi\u00e1s e Distrito Federal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">O rio S\u00e3o Francisco, o mais importante da bacia, com uma <strong>extens\u00e3o de 2 700 Km<\/strong>, tem suas nascentes na Serra da Canastra, em Minas Gerais. Atravessando a longa depress\u00e3o encravada entre o Planalto Atl\u00e2ntico e as Chapadas do Brasil Central, segue a orienta\u00e7\u00e3o sul-norte at\u00e9 aproximadamente a cidade de Barra, dirigindo-se ent\u00e3o para Nordeste at\u00e9 atingir a cidade de Cabrob\u00f3, quando muda para Sudeste para desembocar no Oceano Atl\u00e2ntico. Suas \u00e1guas correm na dire\u00e7\u00e3o noroeste at\u00e9 se encontrarem com o Parana\u00edba para formar o Rio Paran\u00e1. A Figura 18 apresenta as <strong>15 usinas situadas na Bacia, que totalizam 7 619 MW<\/strong>. A Figura 19 apresenta as <strong>12 usinas hidrel\u00e9tricas em opera\u00e7\u00e3o, que totalizam 9 102 MW<\/strong>. Do total de usinas, duas s\u00e3o de bombeamento (Trai\u00e7\u00e3o e Pedreira) e quatro de acumula\u00e7\u00e3o (Eddard de Souza, Ponte Nova, Billings e Guarapiranga). Nenhuma delas gera energia, mas acumulam \u00e1gua e\/ou elevam a \u00e1gua para que outras usinas gerem energia. A Usina de Billings armazena \u00e1gua bombeada pela usina de Pedreira e fornece a \u00e1gua para a Usina de H.
